8 Student Reviews of Redstone College : Denver

  • Terrible School! Now I am stuck with all this ridiculous debt and they are for profit! I graduted with high grades and cannot find any work
They are predatory lenders. The promises they claim about job placement are false.
Look up Westwood colleges fraud or scam. Warning.

    Overall Score: (1.18/5.00)
  • Great School!

    Overall Score: (5/5.00)
  • It shocks me that anyone would say anything negative about our school!!! I’m guessing that they couldn’t hack it and are trying to blame it on someone else…. It’s challenging for the first 3 terms but then you get into all the good stuff.

    Overall Score: (4.90/5.00)
  • This school is really bad don’t go here it expensive and they say all this stuff to get you to sigh the contract and they get you in as quickly as they can take your money and get you out

  • They say you get what you pay for. However, in Redstone’s case if this college were a car you would be buying a $40,000 lemon. You can get the same education if not better from another Aviation School which actually offers a Bachelors Degree program for only $15, 000. This “school” doesn’t care about the student only the money you bring in for them. Do your research Alta Colleges is the parent company of Redstone and Westwood College. There are numerous instances of Westwood being sued for false information and numerous other reasons. And the fruit never falls far from the tree. Unfortunately for me I attended Redstone before doing the research and ended up $40,000 in the hole. Needless to say I will be attending another school to further my education. Another thing I found interesting and disappointing is when you need to do any type of paper work with any of the offices like financial services all of their in house computer operating systems are from Westwood. So Westwood College obviously has their greedy little hands in everything that Redstone does. And they are so interested in protecting their little schemes your pen will almost run dry with all of the signed agreements they demand from you before you start and before you graduate. Just to name one of those schemes. It is mandatory to wear a Redstone shirt while at school. And of course its NOT free they will charge you $400 for their uniform and if you show up to class without it they will send you home. Another one of their schemes is you will need some tools for some of your classes but you can’t just got to an affordable store to buy yourself some affordable tools. You will have to buy their Snap On tools which cost, and it may sound unbelievable, but they are $2,000 dollars for a small tool bag and you won’t even use half of those tools in your classes.

And I can go on, and on. But to make a long story short stay away from Alta Colleges, Redstone College, and Westwood College.

  • I am a graduating student of Redstone College for the wind program in a few weeks. I feel like I’ve been lied to from the start they told me the class sizes were 15 to 1, being student to teacher ratio, I was never in a class smaller than 25 students.Since Ive been here ive seen the starting classes having over 50 bodies in crammed in one class. It has been over twenty five yrs. since I was last in school, I asked how much math was involved in this course so I could brush up on it upon starting, they responded with nothing more than basic math, a blatant lie it was full of advanced algebra, physics, trig, and a few other forms of math I still dont what its called. The courses are so rapid you either get it or you dont,if you fail a block you have to wait two months to repeat that block again due to the lack of enough teachers.Speaking of the teachers none of them have teaching degrees some have actually worked in the field and the rest have not.I personally have seen seen favoritism to studens and total disrespect to others, and unfair grading this may be because of race, religion, color or for whatever reason the instructors have decided they don’t like you personally. The curiculium is a total mess and unorganized to say the least you are bouncing around from one subject to a totally different subject and back. This school uses the excuse they are new to the industry for their terible organization, but they are a well known school for the A&P and Avionics so they are not new to teaching. We were promised hands on training in a turbine but the only turbine we have had hands on was a non working 25 yrs old turbine so out of date that we as students would be lost in the real world of field techs.I was promised a climb in a turbine ththas not happened yet, students in the prior graduating classes did get to climb but something has happened and the rest of the students from here out will be just taking a field trip to a farm without a actual climb. They also dont tell you at the orientation that if you dont have a drivers liscense or if you have dui in last 7yrs or felonies employers wont hire you.In my opinion this school is about the money and thats it, the truth of possible employeement if you have any of the latter situations isnt brought out till after its to late to back out of this course and your stuck with a degree and a tuition bill thats useless to you.The equipment that they supply you with in labs is a joke is all homemade and useless as training devices most of the learning is from books that have wind turbines on the covers butnot one thing about turbines insidethey are based off of industrial manufacturing and aircraft applications.I just hope the title I bear (ASO) will gain me some job somewhere as ive known lots of guys who have graduated that are still unemployed.

  • i just called since i was thinking of going. It sounds really good on videos and by phone, but at the cost of $39,000 thousand and they’re hours available are horrible. I will be pursuing a different school.

  • Red Stone College is a for profit school and is only interested in quantity not quality. You will see a fancy commercial on television and call that number. Before you know it you will get a phone call and they already have your information on there screen. You will meet with there school recruiter who will give you a nice show. What they fail to give any student is the following information. 1. There student hand book so you know what your getting yourself into. 2. There contract that you will be signing, make sure you read the unreadable fine print before signing. 3. They make you sign loans before you even start because its mandatory. 4. They make you sign a mandatory arbitration court agreement just in case you find out the truth about what it is they are really offering. 5. They circumvent the Board of Higher Education by trying to handle situations in house, trying to figure out how to get rid of you the problem before reporting the problem. 6. You never get to really talk to a student 1 on 1 to find out what they really think because of fear of suspension. 7. They deal with Collegiate Housing who bends there own rules with students who do drugs when it is not permitted and Collegiate Housing is well known to ruin your credit. 8. Red Stone should do drug tests but they do not because its all about the money and turning a blind eye and doing the wrong thing. 9. We the Veterans are tired of seeing Governments money being falsely spent for things that we were promised and never received. 10. Red Stone is attached to the West Wood scams and its the only thing that is keeping West Wood afloat. 11. Red Stone takes advantage of students and there APEX loans because if the student does not understand there loans the school takes the full amount your qualified for and if you fail to get your money, its free money to them and they keep it. We the Veterans would not recommend this school to any potential student. They the management sing a nice song and dance, but when your there long enough you already are committed and its to late because your under contract. This place has so many problems and the list can go on and on and we the Veterans have proof of the many matters at hand, it will just be a matter of time until Red Stone college gets caught with there deception and lies that they will not know what story they told. You can fool someone all the time, You can fool most some of the time, But you cannot fool everyone!!
In a nut shell, get copies of everything that you sign!! If the school promises you something have them write it down and autograph it because what they say and what they do…well you get the picture. Lastly, check the police reports what they show and what the Red Stone shows; They have a high graduation rate but also a very high failure rate to get your A&P license (which is the whole reason why your going there to obtain that license) but because your so bummed rushed through all the courses whether you understand it or not it all comes down to the contract you signed. We the Veterans know that the FAA has failed us by the quality and hands on that we are receiving, they turned a blind eye. Red stone also lost there accreditation to turn or AOS degree to an AAA degree and they are not a Trade School but a college. We the Veterans are a little confused on that one because where is the English classes, History Class, Math class??
