Very happy with this college. The staff is very helpful and I truly feel that Patten places their students education and well being at the highest priority.
I’ve attended a few different brink and mortar colleges and I would place the difficulty of classes in the same realm. Unlike some online colleges, you will not get credit here for blog postings. You have assignments to complete and a final project for every class. The exams at Patten are proctored.
I feel that Patten has more of an authentic college feel then most online colleges. You pay $350 monthly for your undergrand and $520 a month for your grad. This is differently not a get rich diploma mill.
In a world of deep graduation dept, Patten is leading the way on quality, affordable, education. I only wish more colleges would adopt a similar modal.
Okay so some background. I am earning a bachelors in organizational psychology. I have a 3.1 gpa, even though I am doing okay there are still a lot of problems that I am going to list.
1. The exams don’t seem to be written by an English speaker. There are spelling and grammar problems in every exam. These are college exams and you would think that they would be edited.
2. The math in the physics class is all wrong. You put an answer down, they tell you that you are wrong and show you how to correct it. You do it there way, and find out that you were correct and the answer they gave is wrong.
3. You can not work ahead. Only taking one class at a time wouldn’t be a problem if you could get the paper done for the next class, but you can’t.
4. You can not choose your classes. This wouldn’t be a problem if you could take classes and transfer them in. However you can only really do that for three classes. In my degree I have to take two philosophy classes, and can not replace them. Why do I need two philosophy classes for a psychology degree. You should be allowed to substitute a humanities class for a humanities class especially since you can’t pick your classes.
5. They changed the project for my Learning Theories class. This wouldn’t be a problem if I wasn’t in the middle of my project.
It is cheap, but the saying you get what you pay for is accurate in this case. I would not recommend this school to anybody.
