  • The administration is rude and unhelpful with a tendency for pretentiousness. Professors are ok but are all very liberal without room for students differing opinions. The campus is nice, but the housing is horrible. Definitely overpriced.

  • I’m currently a sophomore at John Cabot University, and all I have to say is that I’m extremely happy with the choice I made and If I had the chance to change my choice I wouldn’t, I would chose JCU all over again. Being a JCU student gave me a lot of amazing opportunities such as meeting people form all over the world, have a great education and live in of the most beautiful city ever; The Eternal City. Another amazing thing about JCU is not having classes on Friday, this allows you to travel for the weekend all over the Europe.
So far my experience has being one of the best experience ever and I cannot wait to see what the next semesters will hold for me.

  • I am Eleonora, a Communication student at John Cabot University. I’m from Rome but every time I enter in th JCU’s buildings it’s like entering in another world. There’s a truly international atmosphere that is exactly what entices students to travel and study at JCU. Here, we get to know and discover new cultures and traditions. JCU abounds of extracurricular activities such as Clubs, that attract students making them an active part of the student life. Last year, I joined the Fashion Club where I had the opportunity to travel around Italy to visit and get to know the brands that have made the “Made in Italy” a business model appreciated all over the world. In short, a truly unique experience for those cannot stand still. Another experience to try here at JCU is the Athletics department. You can be part of the sports teams, compete at national and international level, always travelling in the name of sport and fun. I’m grateful to be a John Cabot student, I really couldn’t have made a better choice than this.

  • What makes JCU such an academically and culturally rich university is its student body and professors. JCU small clasroom size allows you to go on a topic in depth. Professors are passionate on what they think and you become more than just a number for them. We have classes Monday to Thrusday which allows you to travel.

  • What makes JCU such an academically and culturally rich university is its student body and professors. Additionally, JCU combined the best qualities of an American liberal arts college with the history and culture of the Eternal City, which have challenged me both personally and professionally.

  • I have been studying at JCU for 3 years now. The overall experience is positive, and here is why: professors do their best so that one could succeed, study abroad options are amazing, the university is very multicultural, campuses are just gorgeous as well as the area they are located in (lots of cool places one could go to, party), the food on campus is way better than in any school in the US (personal experience). JCU offers a bunch of housing options some of them fairly better than others (Gianicolo – amazing, Lungara – feels like a 4star hotel). The university is the process of constant renewal: every semester they improve lots of things, even open new study areas

  • The University offers its diversified student body many wonderful things such as great professors, interesting courses, and career connections. I decided to come to JCU after finishing my high school in Dubai, UAE, as I wanted to be independent from my family in Paris all the while being close to them. Being in Rome, the university won me over with its mixture of Italian culture and Americanized style.

    Overall Score: (4.27/5.00)
  • John Cabot University was the key that opened many doors such as: life experiences, internships and great friendships. I have been studying at JCU in Rome for two years now,
I was born and raised in Sicily but I lived in the States for a year where I finished my high school, and right after I fell in love with the American School System, right after I decided to pursue my education in an American University and that’s how I found JCU, honestly I could not have wished for something better. Thanks to the Career Service Center I got an internship at the American Embassy of Rome, which is truly changing my life, especially since my biggest dream is being a diplomat. Professors are very competent and always available for any kind of problem you might have in Rome, in your life or, of course, academically. I think I’ll remember most of my lectures for life because professors at JCU have something special, they are “humans” and really get you. Moreover, John Cabot is where I met people from all over the world, that truly showed me how to look at the world from different points of view, it’s great to interact with people that have very different background or stories. I could not have wished to study in any other place, if not, in the heart of Rome.

  • I am about to finish my first year at John Cabot University and I have to say that it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! JCU is absolutely perfect for me. The professors are passionate and empathetic. The small classroom size makes me more than just a number here. I’ve met people from all over the world and I’ve had the opportunity to live in Rome, one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Having no classes on Friday makes traveling around central Europe so easy! My experience so far here has been amazing and I cannot wait to see what is in store for the future here at JCU!

  • I will graduate John Cabot University (JCU) this coming May 2017, and could not be happier with my undergrad experience. JCU is more than just a four year university, it is a tight-knit community of diverse students and staff. Due to the small class size I received incredible one on one attention from professors, which helped me to understand topics more in depth and motivate me to try my hardest. The student body is extremely diverse, I developed friendships with people from all over the world, friends who I will have for life, and that was really the best gift JCU gave me. I highly recommend anyone who is open minded and willing to immerse themselves in a new culture to do their undergrad at JCU.

    Overall Score: (4.90/5.00)
  • Studying at JCU was really a great experience. The professors were top notch, prepared and passionate. What impressed me more, coming from a non-math background, was the patience and professionalism of the math professors and the student assistants at the math tutoring center. I was able to achieve top grades, and enjoy my stay throughout all semester. Would totally recommend!! xoxoxo

  • It was a great experience studying at John Cabot for one semester. The courses are not very easy, thus it is not the right choice if you expect to party or travel all the time. The housing is not very good, Rome is a very old city and for this reason there is not a lot of space available. In addition, the housing managers are too strict, but, apart from that, I suggest studying abroad there.

    Overall Score: (3.63/5.00)
  • Focuses a lot on its image and webpage to persuade students to come. Once there prepare to be disappointed. Very low scholarship levels for faculty and a lot of posturing and posing with courses on Italian cookery for the holiday types. Students who grovel to the administration and young female students who are ‘helpful’ can do well. Some pretty scary scandals and events including drug fueled attempted murders going on around the place also. Great location but best avoided.

    Overall Score: (1/5.00)
  • They treat you like children and manipulate you into abiding by their jail-like rules. I’m smarter than my 2nd (3rd, 4th) rate teachers. I’m pretty sure they are making absurd amounts of money off their students.

Terrible institution. I would recommend jumping in the Tiber before trying to deal with the morons that run John Cabot University.

    Overall Score: (1/5.00)
  • If your looking to study abroad and enjoy europe/italy go to another school (AUR) JCU attempted to be an respectable academic school but fails miserably. Courses are a joke and exams/papers are not Americanized or by any means effective.
Housing is jail. Literally next to a jail and cannot bring friends in, have alcohol, or really accomplish anything because resources are not available. No internet in newest residency until last week of semester.
Professors and facility, next to useless. Literally not there for you.
That was my fifth time to Italy and lets just say that JCU did everything possible for me to not enjoy the trip.
Good luck getting your transcripts back at your home University. That took me three months, had them ordered three different times and paid to have them expedited twice.

    Overall Score: (1.90/5.00)
  • I completely disagree with Robert. JCU was a great experience and it was a hard at the begining to adjust to a new country, and set of mind. it is completely different from back home in the USA. I found the staff from housing and student services at JCU very professional and competent specially the RA\’s and student assistants. they were very helpufull to help me in anything I needed specially when I did not have hot water or internet on my apartment. I have made friends also with kids from different nationalities something that at my home universities I will dream of! because it is so big! plus regarding the bank account , Robert be honest JCU is cheapest that studying in the USA . I defetinely recommend JCU and please be aware it is not a study abroad party program , you need to study there and you will learn a lot on being indipendent and get to know italians and other kids! it is great!

    Overall Score: (4.45/5.00)
  • The faculty is good. The staff, especially housing and student services are completely incompetent and extremely unprofessional. Examples include gossiping daily about students (with other students and their professors), sharing of personal and confidential materials (including grades), and complete disregard to ACTUAL student issues/problems until it can no longer be ignored and have already gotten out of hand. Rome is a great place to visit and live for a little while, but I wouldn’t give JCU a dime or one minute of my time. This school offers nothing but a headache and a depleted bank account.

    Overall Score: (1.72/5.00)
  • The best experience ever!

  • great school, but tough, not for your typical study abroad party types

  • Not what anybody expected. Could use some help.
