I am really disappointed in how they organize their courses. I am in medical office assistant right now and i feel like my questions are not answered properly.they ignore me.For career development course i was ignored i have not done the mock interview because she chooses to ignore me purposely. I sent an email asking them for help on courses that i would take on September, again they did not answer me, when they do it is in a really rude way I regret being here and i can’t wait to finish my programm

do NOT give them your number. I went on their website and put my email and cell number just for information purposes and I have been getting non stop calls ever since, and I only answered them once. They’re attitude on my voice mail has been getting shittier and shittier the longer I don’t answer them. This is no way to act with people who were interested. RUN THE HELL AWAY FROM THEM. Don’t trust a college that harasses people who aren’t even their students.
I went there (Winnipeg). They claimed a 95% placement rate. They didn’t mention that 92% ended up working at Chicken Delight. The courses are not recognized by businesses or other educational institutions. The instructors are unqualified. There should be a law against them. I wish I could give them zero stars.
Run. Don’t walk away.
I always look back to the day i enrolled to this school. It felt like i was rushed to pick a course because i was not sure at that time. Internship placement was horrible because me and a few classmates did not get an actual experience relating to our course. Also, I can say its a waste of money.
Yeah, no I’m so glad I stumbled upon this thread. I’m due to commence my program CSW next month and the fact that I was accepted in almost immediately should’ve been a red flag. I will definitely be going elsewhere given that most of the commentators seem to be jobless and that’s one of the perks that ALMOST drew me in. The lady I spoke with seemed to try and hurry past the part about the internship and when I brought it up, her answer didn’t sound very convincing.
I had a great experience at Herzing. When I met with admissions, they walked me through what I could expect and helped me with information regarding student loans and additional financial aid offered by the Province (I was a single mom with no money at the time). They helped me with my applications for aid and made the process very smooth.
My classes were enjoyable and informational. I liked that my instructor was someone who had worked in the field (legal assistant) and had hands-on experience.
I found the post-graduation help to be invaluable. I was placed with one firm for my internship, but two weeks in I was finding I wasn’t learning much. I contacted the school and they were able to find me a different internship for my final two weeks, which ended up being a much more positive experience.
Before we graduated, we were assisted with creating effective resumes and cover letters and had mock interviews to brush up on our interview skills. We were given a legal directory with the names of all of the practising lawyers in the City. I sent my cover letter and resume to Every. Single. One. I ended up getting a job at an immigration firm and it was not a positive experience. I stayed for six months before I had to get out of there. I called Herzing to let them know I was back on the market and to see if they knew anyone who was looking. They didn’t, but they said they would keep me in mind if anything came up.
I could have sat back and whined about how Herzing had “failed” to help me get a job, but instead I called a firm I was interested in and offered to work for them for a month for free. Worst case scenario, I would gain experience and a good reference. I thought of it like a free class. At the end of the month, the firm offered me a full-time position. At about that time, the firm I had interned with (the second time) had contacted Herzing to see if they knew of any upcoming or recent grads who were looking for work. Herzing pointed them my way and I was offered a job with them as well.
Fast forward 10 years later, I am still working in the field and am now making over twice what I made when I started out.
Here’s the thing: Herzing will not GET you a job. You have to get yourself the jobs. If I had not been proactive, I would not have found anything. If you need to nail two pieces of wood together and you buy a hammer and some nails and then don’t use them, it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with the hammer and nails. Herzing will give you the tools you need to get a job. It’s up to you to use them effectively.
No stars for herzing college. Very unprofessional. I am at the Medical Office Assistant course, and they basically ignored me, when we only have 6 people in class. Instructors play favourites and they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR STUDENTS and they promised to help you trough, but instead they put you down if they don’t like you. I worked so hard and they never saw that, all they see is their favourite. i hate that i enrolled here. It does not even look like a school. It’s a waste of time and money. I want to drop out and just go to a different college, because this college shouldn’t even be existing.
I wish I can give Herzing College (WINNIPEG) NO STARS. This school, and how the admission and career development staff operate, doesn’t deserve any. This so-called college is a waste of time, doesn’t help your career path what-so-ever, and most definitely is a whoooole lot of money wasting! I’ve been out of this school taking the Clinic Office Assistant program (3 yrs ago) THREE! And I still have never ever worked a job as a Clinic Office Assistant! Instead im employed as a whole different job title. The staff and career development staff tell you, you will get ALL the help you need… TOTAL LIE! Herzing WILL CON YOU!
Thank goodness I’m not the only one who thinks Herzing is a JOKE! Many friends of mine went to Robertson College taking a course similar to the Clinic Office Assistant course. Wish I went there instead!! The staff actually care, unlike the foolish staff that work at Herzing, who all they care about is conning you for your money!

I would have to agree, Herzing should have NO ratings, NO stars! This college cons you by telling you everything you want to hear, from; helping you find a job, assuring you that you’ll be okay with finances with your living situation while in school, to the staff helping you before and after graduation. Near the end of my course,there is a career development class that “helps” you with interview skills, resume and cover letters etc. BULLLLLL CRAP! I am really bad with interviews, so I was kinda pumped that we were going to have mock interviews or “help” with my interview skills. And OMG it’s a joke! The staff doesnt do NOTHING to help with interviews and such!! I’ve been out of herzing since Nov. 2011 and im still out of a job! I’ve never heard a call back or follow up from any staff at Herzing. So much for Herzing staff helping with that!!! Mr. Herzing, you should be in jail for conning people out of thousands of dollars!!!!!!!
Herzing Career College is the biggest joke, my daughter is a Single parent and decided she wanted to go into the Legal Asst course with the promise of helping her with a finding a job that would. She had completed with a 3.0 GPA and was placed in a an internship with one of their so called placement companies when all of a sudden at the last fricken week before she was to start the internship the company pulled out of the internship program and as of today she has still not been placed and is now out of not only experience and thousands of dollars. Student loans should be slapped for considering unsuspecting students who are right from the start lied too, to pay into a ridiculous so called half ass school as Herzing College you should be ashamed of yourself. Now as I want to submit my comment I half to rate this pathetic school. Well just to let you know that I wouldn’t rate this school at all especially a star, they should put you out of business!!!!!! there thats my rating..
I’m going to have to agree with Sasha up there. I would not recommend Herzing College (Winnipeg) to a single soul! The staff is determined to help you find a job upon graduation. Then when that time comes, you never EVER hear from them. They basically just take your thousands of dollars and run for it! Going to Herzing was the biggest mistake i have made in my whole entire life! $14,000 down the drain. Now i’m left jobless with a $14,000 student loan im gonna have to pay. That’s no thanks to Herzing College
Herzing College in Winnipeg is a JOKE! They tell you they help you find a job after you graduate… they DON’T!! Soooo much regret going here! Thousands of dollars wasted. Going to a real College would’ve benifited me a wayyy lot more!
I’m glad the only other review, Frank, seems to have enjoyed/benefited from his time here. I attended their Web Site Design program about 10 years ago and it was an absolute joke. Maybe things have improved since then, but I doubt it.
The tuition fees are outrageous. There seemed to be absolutely no prior knowledge of computers or website design required, as more than half the people in my class of students could not functionally use a computer for it’s most basic purposes, nevermind to create a stylish, functional website. I kid you not, some of the people did not know how to cut and paste. When a program is 1 year, for something like Website design, it makes sense there should be some entrance tests to determine whether you have adequate basic knowledge of computers before undertaking the course. Clearly this was not the case. For all intents and purposes, the first several months were like an adult Computers for Dummies exercise in frustration.
They considered me working at a call centre as a tech support rep as being successfully working in my field of study which is a load of crap. Last time I checked, none of use ever found work in the field because none of us were prepared. Even the ones in the top 3 of the class, which included myself.
An utter joke. If I could sue them and win my $9000 back I would.
